We are two ecologists both specialized in interdisciplinary research and interested in modelling and network analysis.
Many many thanks to Uygar Özesmi for his support in developing the FCMapper and for great discussions on- and offline.

Michael Bachhofer (Contact)

Michael is currently attending a masters program for Art&Science Visualization at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. After it he will look out for a PhD fellowship, where he can further investigate the advantages of methods out of network analysis and fuzzy logic.  He is especially interested in bridging art and science in interdisciplinary research projects. 

His main scientific interests and expertise are: expert systems for forecasting and decision support, participatory approaches for gaining knowledge and knowledge transfer, the concept of ecosystem health, epidemiology and public health, but also the development of standards and tools for multidisciplinary research. 

Besides he is working as an IT and data processing freelancer and he is involved in media production as well as in art projects like interactive media and photography.

Martin Wildenberg (Contact)

Martin is leading the GLOBAl 2000 (Friends of the Earth Austria) Sustainability Program in Vienna (for more information see: Link NHP). He has worked as researcher on the topic of socio-ecological system modeling at the Institute for Social Ecology in Vienna, and at the Austrian Environmental Agency on the topic of Long Term Socio-Ecological Research.

His main scientific interests and expertise are: the use and development of participative methods and models especially in the wide field of sustainability research. He also works on indicator development and sustainability assessment in applied projects. He believes that understanding the dynamics of socio-ecological systems requires new research methods, including new ways of communicating the results across disciplinary and cultural borders.
